La luz temprana se filtraba entre las cortinas de la tienda, teñida de un tono dorado que anunciaba un día claro. El campamento aún despertaba: el murmullo de voces quedas, el tintinear de tazas de metal, el crujido de la leña que alguien encendía con esmero. Kito recorría el lugar con pasos tranquilos, saludando a cada viajero con una sonrisa que parecía llevar años acostumbrada al sol y al polvo de la sabana. Su voz, suave y firme, bastaba para que todos sintieran que estaban en buenas manos.

Elena apareció primero, ajustándose el cabello en una coleta mientras se acercaba a la mesa del desayuno. Observó el horizonte despejado y respiró hondo, como quien intenta grabar un momento para siempre. Mark llegó detrás con dos tazas de té y se las ofreció con un gesto que revelaba costumbre, pero también algo tímido, como si buscara reencontrarse con un hábito olvidado.
